I only photographed one wolf on this trip, it was a Junction Butte yearling at about two hundred yards in drizzling rain.

The rainfall this year was good for the White Bark Pine, so most of the bears were still up high getting fat for the winter. Most elk were also up high taking advantage of good grazing. Most of the elk in this gallery were in Mammoth. There was only one bull with a harem and no challengers. Sometimes the things that are good for wildlife aren't good for photographers... and that's ok!

The Lamar Canyon pack was out of town most of the trip. They returned the night before we left. We looked for them the next morning, but they were bedded in the trees.

Now that I've made all the excuses, I have to say, any trip to Yellowstone is a good one!

Visited YNP twice this Fall and had very little Elk luck On the first trip a four pointer was it. Second trip in Mid Oct saw total of three Bulls un the Madison Meadows. Drove into the Lamar and Down to fishing Bridge No wolves or elk. Not a good year for photographing animals. As you say it's always great being there. No such thing as a bad trip to YNP

What a great show. Fabulous as usual as the animals were in great shape. You can be so proud.
